Red River Tech Prep Program 

The Tech Prep program at Red River Technology Center is focused on helping high school students develop and succeed with their career and life goals.

The Red River Tech Prep Consortium partners with high schools in Cotton, Stephens, and Jefferson counties.  In addition, there are cooperative alliances with colleges and universities, and a strong partnership with business and industry.

Student’s who qualify and participate in the Cooperative Alliance Partnership, have the opportunity to earn college credit.  You pay $8.00 per credit hour fee and those classes are placed on an official college transcript.  To see if you qualify or If you need financial help, talk with the Tech Prep Coordinator.  These college hours are a solid beginning towards and Associate of Applied Science Degree.  This is an opportunity to finish a two year degree in one year after high school graduation.  What an advantage.

  9. Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning
  10. Precision Machine Technology
  11. Welding

Participating Alliance Colleges and Universities

  1. Murray State College in Tishomingo
  2. Western Oklahoma State College at Altus
  3. OSU Institute of Technology

Other Important Information
To earn college credit you must meet one of the following criteria:

  1. Have earned a score of 15 or better on the ACT Plan test or
  2. Have earned a score of 19 or better on an ACT test or
  3. Have a current non- weighted cumulative grade point average of 2.5 or better.

In addition, you must have your parent’s written permission and your high school counselor’s written approval including verification of the appropriate criterion.
